Energy & Environment

Green Deal, energy transition, climate justice, biodiversity and sustainable development across Europe.

Who we are

We're a new thematic group within the European Youth Movement, bringing together young professionals, students, researchers and future policymakers around one shared interest: Europe's energy future.

Our vision

Energy stopped being a side topic a while ago. It's tangled up in everything now — who has leverage over whom, who can afford the transition and who can't, which countries get to call the shots on climate policy because they got their energy mix sorted early. It's not just an environmental question anymore. It's a question of power.

Yet the people who will live longest with today's energy decisions are rarely the ones in the room when they're made.

That's the gap we want to close. Not by waiting for someone else to have these conversations, but by having them ourselves — seriously, and without pretending the hard questions have easy answers. How do we balance climate goals with energy security? What role should nuclear play in strategic autonomy? Who bears the cost of the transition, and who actually benefits?

What we'll cover

Six areas of focus, built out over the coming months:

🏛️European Energy Policy
📊Energy Markets & Economics
🔬Emerging Energy Technologies
🌱Renewable Energy
⚛️Nuclear Energy
🛡️Energy Security & Strategic Autonomy

Get involved

This is a long-term project. It starts small — one topic, one conversation, one contributor at a time — and it's going to grow. If you want to help build it, get in touch.
